5 years!

It’s time to congratulate those who have completed 5 years of blogging! 5 years is still a good old age for a blog – in fact, these blogs are still older than this site (which started in 2005).

I’ve done this in the past, but I’m not sure if I’ll do it again – the more time goes by the more blogs are celebrating! But here it is, at least one more time – Happy Blogoversary!

Between an earthquake and a flu bug, there’s been no shortage of news on Mexico lately. I’m in Mexico City right now.

Celebrating 5 years of blogging

It’s no small feat to keep a blog running for 5 years. But this year we have several more bloggers that are celebrating a half-decade. Feel free to drop by and offer them your congrats!

Quirey Life (Brazil) has more life than ever – they’ve been celebrating the birth of Jackson Turner Quirey.
The Poulette Family(Mexico) has been writing lately about Jesus, His death and Resurrection. Of course, the Poulettes have another newer blog – Mexico Movies, which has given many of us a great introduction to vlogging over the past 3 years.
Carroll Chronicles (Germany) is a bright family focused blog, writing about things like Married at the age of Five!? and Please DO Feed the Animals!
Comings Communiqué (Brazil) is a blog with rich variety. Read recent thoughts on prayer and some news items.
AGENText (Argentina) used to be mexiText. Still going strong with a fresh change of country, you can read about The Unexpected and Lacking Rhythm, Not Life
Erin’s Entry (Nigeria) is actually new around here, but not new to the blogosphere. Erin recently wrote about In Sickness and in Health…, and the post Last Friday… is long but not to be missed if you want to learn about Nigerian culture.
I have to give honourable mention to The Happenings in Madrid, which, although there hasn’t been a post in a while, has been a long time familiar face.

Half a Decade of Blogging

There are a few blogs represented here that have a special anniversary this year – they have completed a full 5 years of blogging! Congratulations to you all. To honour the event, I’m highlighting some of their latest posts. Be sure to drop by and offer your congrats!

By the way, 5 years ago George W. Bush signed the Iraq War Resolution, the oil tanker Prestige sank off the Galician coast (oil spill), in Nigeria, more than 100 people were killed at an attack on the Miss World contestants, United Airlines filed for bankruptcy, a suicide truck-bomb attack destroyed the headquarters of Chechnya’s Moscow-backed government (72 dead), China Airlines Flight 611 brok up in flight, killing 225, Banco Azteca opened in Mexico, and Jimmy Carter won the Nobel Peace Prize.
