There are many Christians out there who are helping with physical healing in another culture. What a great way to show the compassion of Jesus! Some of these people have medical training, some don’t.

But today I wanted to highlight doctors and nurses who are serving full time in another culture. I probably missed some obvious ones – I’ve never taken the time to catalogue which people are in which types of ministry. So if you can think of more, please leave a comment!

Photo courtesy of Kyle and Kelly Adams

No list would be complete without Kids’ Doc in Jos, the blog of pediatrician Dr. Mike Blyth in Nigeria. Dr Blyth is one of our veteran bloggers.

He’s just finishing his service in Kenya, and returning to his native land (the USA) to serve the Lord there. Thanks for showing us what God is doing in Kenya, Mission Safari!

Heading to Sudan to work with children is a nurse at Under the African Rain.

New as of this February – visit Musings of a Medical Missionary, serving in Ukraine.

Finally, we end up back in Mexico with The Miller Family in Mexico City.

The Miller’s ministry says it all – While tending to people’s physical and spiritual needs, the Millers desire to demonstate what a difference Jesus makes in every area of our lives.

May we all have a part in that mission!

I’ve mentioned Mike’s blog here before, but you may not know that he and his wife Barb both contribute to the blog, and also have their own website, with lots of interesting tidbits. The website is kept up to date, and is called From Nigeria: With Love…

Their website has an extensive photo gallery which you can enjoy, as well as videos, stories and articles.

It was interesting to read a little about how teh Blyths have been able to make use of the internet on the field. Read in their August newsletter how technology has changed their ministry.
