We have a nice little word-cloud on the sidebar here that shows which countries are mentioned the most. This has a lot to do with how many bloggers there are in a country, how well they blog, how often they blog – things like that.

Once in a while I like to feature blogs from countries that are less often mentioned – so here are some posts from countries you haven’t heard from quite as much…

Back to Blogging (Albania): It has been almost 9 months since I wrote on this blog! Yikes…. where did that time go? We have had a very busy several months which would take too long to catch you up on so I am going to settle for the highlights and get back to the story-telling of our ho-hum lives that we find fascinating!

Searching for a Good Drink of Water (Angola): (VOA) A recent study from the Catholic University of Angola shows that well over 50% Angola’s population lacks access to safe water and sanitation. The study was carried out by experts from the Center for Studies and Scientific Research in Angola…

Alas… Camp is over! (Canada): Well, we’ve come to the end of summer camps for 2011 – and a wonderful summer it was. It was a summer fraught with great challenges and great blessings… God is indeed Good! For those of you who have checked in…

Before and After! (El Salvador): This past week we were all at the camp property for a three-day youth conference called Dinamica Jovenil. A professor from the bible institute in Argentina was our guest speaker and the topic was…

Things I love about Germany: Krista has started putting observations about Germany that she has been having as we’ve returned to our small village after being in America for a year on Facebook. Here’s the…

Water Day (Ghana): We are back at Yendi – finally home. We are also back in our Ghanaian rhythm – like the flow of water to our house…

This is kind of an eclectic "learn something" post. Learn about some of the struggles missionaries face, learn about the people they interact with, and the cultures they’re in – and if you’re interested in Chile, you can even ask some questions!

From Peru – a glimpse into the joys of red tape that missionaries so often face – The Cafe – The Latest and, well, not the Greatest

From Romania – a very random post, but a very good question.

Do you want to learn something about Chile? Now’s your chance – ask your question right here!

The story of Manwellcito (he hates it when she calls him that) from Ecuador

Check out a Middle Ages festival on May Day in Germany

Finally – a post about the cold and flu season that has nothing to do with H1N1! (Brazil)

Some thoughts on Twitter: Short And Sweet from a missionary perspective (Ukraine)

Time to meet just one child in Bolivia – Child History 7.0

It’s no small feat to keep a blog running for 5 years. But this year we have several more bloggers that are celebrating a half-decade. Feel free to drop by and offer them your congrats!

Quirey Life (Brazil) has more life than ever – they’ve been celebrating the birth of Jackson Turner Quirey.

The Poulette Family(Mexico) has been writing lately about Jesus, His death and Resurrection. Of course, the Poulettes have another newer blog – Mexico Movies, which has given many of us a great introduction to vlogging over the past 3 years.

Carroll Chronicles (Germany) is a bright family focused blog, writing about things like Married at the age of Five!? and Please DO Feed the Animals!

Comings Communiqué (Brazil) is a blog with rich variety. Read recent thoughts on prayer and some news items.

AGENText (Argentina) used to be mexiText. Still going strong with a fresh change of country, you can read about The Unexpected and Lacking Rhythm, Not Life

Erin’s Entry (Nigeria) is actually new around here, but not new to the blogosphere. Erin recently wrote about In Sickness and in Health…, and the post Last Friday… is long but not to be missed if you want to learn about Nigerian culture.

I have to give honourable mention to The Happenings in Madrid, which, although there hasn’t been a post in a while, has been a long time familiar face.

Ah, the legendary experience of language learners with young children. You know, the little sponges. Oh, and here’s some more about the joys of learning a language.

This is truly amazing. I mean, this is what they do, but still. WOW.

Just a few thoughts about love. ’Tis the season, after all.

Oh yes, chasing out the evil spirits. You’ll never believe how they do Carnival in Germany.

I like to write about new missionary blogs here in order to give them a bit of a “boost” as they start out in the great big world of cyberspace. However, not all of the blogs that are added to the aggregator are new. As a matter of fact, many are not – they’re old blogs that I *gasp* neglected to add! So today I thought I’d introduce you to a few blogs that are new enough to me that you’ve never seen them on the blog list – but they’ve been around for a while. Take for example:

Musings of a Mutating Missionary – her profile starts out by saying she’s a romantic. She’s in Germany, and has been blogging since the middle of 2005.

The Youngs – Charles and Kristin are serving in Swaziland, Africa. They’ve been blogging since August 2005.

And another one – Straight from Swaziland – thanks to Patrick, whose blog dates back to September 2005.

Wired Wisdom, started in June 2005, comes out of Romania and focuses a lot on adventures in homeschooling

Just one more – MexicoMinistry: Mellberg’s Missionary Update. This blog started in July 2005. You can probably figure out the country

If you’re new to the world of blogs, you may wonder how blogs from mid-2005 are “old”. Maybe old was the wrong term, but the “new” blogs I write about are usually from the last 6 months. Maybe old was the wrong word, but in the world of missionary blogs, a year is like 1000 years…
