So, I’ve been travelling all around Africa! Well, not in real life – but via the blogs of our many missionary bloggers in Africa. So I thought I’d stop and share with you some of the posts I found!

Do we take for granted the simple things – like electricity? In Senegal, getting basic steady electricity can be a challenge, as we read in Power Cuts.

And not to complain – but what about the ability to get good milk? Well, some of us could live without it, but some of us couldn’t. Here’s what a family in Madagascar has been dealing with – bad milk!

On a more positive note, let’s head over to Sudan for something that is badly needed – good, solid training for leaders! Take a look at Church Leadership Training (details)

Working in South Africa, David points out that some Bible passages – that may seem very archaic and far away to you – may seem quite contemporary in other parts of the world. Read All the rams which leap upon the cattle are ringstraked (Genesis 31).

And how about an update about everything from the country of Niger? Head on over and read Eleven in 2011.

Take the time to get to know some real people in Ghana – The Privilege of Sharing our lives in Christ.

Wow, how often do you face decisions like this? Missionaries in Uganda want to share with you about this tough decision.

I’m sorry – you’re under arrest. For what, may I ask? Find out what happened to this missionary in Liberia…

It’s 435 years old! What is? Why, Luanda of course! It’s the capitol of Angola.

And this is totally unrelated to anything, but I was very excited to find this extraordinarily practical blog for those who aren’t eating gluten – and are living where perhaps it’s not so easy (not that it’s easy anywhere!). So, from Senegal, check out Living GF in Dakar.

And just one more – a video (below) from Mozambique, thanks to the Da Silva Family blog.

Madagascar From Tulear: It’s been a long time since I had to do so many things by candlelight. I can remember struggling to do my homework during power cuts due to strikes back in the 1970s, trying to read by the light of a paraffin lamp when we lived in Ivory Coast in the 1980′s and 1990s. Right now I’m in southern Madagascar…

Puerto Rico Two different Suicide Attempts Makes for a Stressful Week: ”I am going to kill myself” sobbed Carlos, as he pulled out a pocket knife, opened it and put it on the table between us,”And I am going to use that knife.” He grabbed his head and moaned…

Cambodia community life: There’s been a lot of things about the culture in Cambodia that I’ve had to get used to since I moved here. Whilst it has often been a challenge to my western cultural thinking, it has been great to get to know a little of how Khmer people live and their view of the world…

Thailand Superstitions: Recently I talked with two of my English classes about superstitions. Our book gave some examples of American superstitions (walking under ladders – bad; finding horseshoes – good, etc.) Then I asked…

Ecuador The 7 sweet things that awaited us in Ecuador: While these little bunnies were a cute surprise, the greatest surprise that awaited us was two new girls showing up at church this week. They are from the family that another church member had noticed as a new family in Sacha Runa…

Ukraine Steps to Get Money for a Car: 1. Open a bank account in your name, in the nearest city. 2. Have money transferred from the US to this account. Easy so far, right?…

Kenya Unforgettable: Tonight, I went to the children’s home to share with the children about my leaving. I had shared in church yesterday, but with the service having been more than 3 hours long, I wasn’t sure if they had really heard when my time came to share…

I have one – but I want more. Call me selfish, but I just want to find more blogs from these countries. One simply isn’t enough! Can you help?

Bangladesh: I know of Bangladesh Adventures. A recent post highlights the need for teachers.

Bulgaria: You can check out the Mellingers in Bulgaria, who recently wrote about slippers.

Croatia: America to Zagreb was recently writing about an early Christmas present.

Greece: How about Mike and Maria Long? Their recent news includes a Court Case, Bike Trip, and Surgery

Honduras: Well, we do have The Sims Family in Honduras. Their recent post had the eye-catching title Overdue and I am not even pregnant….

Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast): Actually, the Farho family has a number of blogs on their site. Everything from family to fitness is covered here! Recent posts include Why God allows pain and Youssef’s cancer is dead.

Madagascar: I do have the Slaubaughs in Madagascar. Check out a few of their latest pictures here.

These are all great blogs, but they’re pretty lonely. Does anyone know of more blogs from these countries? Help me out here.

Pilots, mechanics, families, ground crew… missionary aviation is a big job with all kinds of different aspects. The deserts of Africa, the jungles of Mexico, the tundra of northern Canada – airplanes are flying all over the place to bring relief supplies, to connect friends and family, and to bring the light of the Gospel.

Sometimes Christians in missionary aviation are hard to pin down – they don’t always serve in only one country, and sometimes they move their families all over the world. But here are three of the missionary aviation bloggers out there that are keeping us up to date on what God is doing on and above the earth….

Where in the world are the wilsons? Well, you figure it out. Another good question – where in the world are the Wilsons from? A Scottish Dad, and Australian Mom, and two South African kids, serving the Lord in the world of aviation.

Slaubaughs in Madagascar – well, we know where they are (at the moment). Lots of pictures of the big island here, from a Canadian family.

The Carwell Blog – serving the Lord in missionary aviation in Haiti. He was born in the USA, she in Iran. They met in Haiti.

From all over the world, flying above the world to all over the world, with a message from beyond this world. Right on!

It seems like there have been a lot of blogs springing up in Mexico in recent days. It’s hard to keep up with.

For example, you may be familiar with .:. The Harer’s live journal. Ken Harer sent me Deborah’s blog, called “All children, except one, grow up.” Don’t you love that title? Deborah is short term in Mexico.

Deborah is working with The Williams in Mexico, so there’s another blog.

Then I found fbumpkin, the blog of an American-Mexican family in Mexico. Then we’ve got theag_news ministry along with theag_news. Finally, we have the Mackinnon family. These guys have three blogs going, a his and a hers and a ministry blog.

It’s turning out to be very popular – Dennis Poulette’s post 101 things about Mexico City. Michelle used the idea in her post 55 things of Ensenada.

Interesting point of comparison – on the 30th of March the Slaubaughs in Madagascar posted a similar list. Those of us from the “Western world” may find a lot of similarities as we travel the rest of the world.

Any other lists out there about Mexico or beyond?
