Bullfighting

An odd topic, I know. But let’s face it – bullfighting is a big deal in Latin America, and … in Spain, a VERY big deal!

So I thought you might be interested in these three posts (one new, the other two old) about the topic.

First, a quick picture of a bullfighting ring in Spain.

And now, over in Peru, this very cultural experience going to a bull fight, in a post entitled Of Bulls and Blessings.

Finally, back in Spain, an ex-pat from the USA hears about the glories of the sport in it’s dangerous out there.

Cultural glimpses of Spain

Lists of interesting cultural tidbits tend to be very popular. So I really enjoyed this post out of Spain – a fresh look at food, conversation, entertainment – you name it. For example:

Celebrating 5 years of blogging

It’s no small feat to keep a blog running for 5 years. But this year we have several more bloggers that are celebrating a half-decade. Feel free to drop by and offer them your congrats!

Quirey Life (Brazil) has more life than ever – they’ve been celebrating the birth of Jackson Turner Quirey.
The Poulette Family(Mexico) has been writing lately about Jesus, His death and Resurrection. Of course, the Poulettes have another newer blog – Mexico Movies, which has given many of us a great introduction to vlogging over the past 3 years.
Carroll Chronicles (Germany) is a bright family focused blog, writing about things like Married at the age of Five!? and Please DO Feed the Animals!
Comings Communiqué (Brazil) is a blog with rich variety. Read recent thoughts on prayer and some news items.
AGENText (Argentina) used to be mexiText. Still going strong with a fresh change of country, you can read about The Unexpected and Lacking Rhythm, Not Life
Erin’s Entry (Nigeria) is actually new around here, but not new to the blogosphere. Erin recently wrote about In Sickness and in Health…, and the post Last Friday… is long but not to be missed if you want to learn about Nigerian culture.
I have to give honourable mention to The Happenings in Madrid, which, although there hasn’t been a post in a while, has been a long time familiar face.

Short term in Spain

Here’s another brand new short-term missionary blog for you. This one is all the way from Spain. Alex decided to do his internship there, and he arrived late last month. At the moment he is exploring Cáceres, a town of about 88,000 in western Spain. This blog is so new that the most recent post is entitled El Primer Dia (the first day).
